Welcome home.

For as long as I can remember, I've been drawn to exploring what makes a space feel like home. As a child of Korean immigrants in Germany, later living across Europe and the US, I learned early that home transcends geographic boundaries. It lives in moments, in materials, in thoughtfully designed spaces that ground us.

These moments stay with me: the familiar rhythm of Heathrow Airport after a decade of calling London home; the sound of a wet saw cutting tile as I watched my father build our family bathroom in Germany; ripe persimmons on my grandmother's porch in rural Korea, where summer heat and cicada songs marked quiet afternoons.

My design work emerges from this journey between cultures. Drawing on Korean minimalism and German Bauhaus principles, I create pieces that balance function with considered design. Each detail is intentional, informed by different traditions of craftsmanship and precision.

Through Handwerk, I create furniture and spaces that transform daily rituals into moments of intention. Each design reflects decades of understanding what creates belonging—where materials are chosen with purpose, where every element is questioned, where design serves both beauty and function.
