Our Process
1. Exploration
We start with a complimentary 30-minute consultation—either at your home or virtually, whichever feels right. This isn't a sales pitch; it's a conversation about how you use your space, what's not working, and what you're envisioning. I'll ask questions about your daily routines, your aesthetic preferences, and what "done right" looks like for you. By the end, you'll know if custom is the right solution, what's realistically possible in your space, and whether we're a good fit to work together. No pressure, no obligation—just clarity on what comes next.
2. Brief and Budget
After our consultation, I'll provide a written summary capturing everything we discussed—your goals for the space, functional requirements, aesthetic direction, and any constraints we need to work within. This brief ensures we're completely aligned before moving forward. At this stage, I'll also provide a price range for your project based on the scope we've outlined. While exact pricing depends on final material selections and design details (which we'll refine together in the next phase), this range is binding—it gives you a clear understanding of the investment so you can make an informed decision about proceeding to design.
3. Design
This is where your vision becomes tangible. I'll create detailed drawings showing exactly what your built-in will look like, how it fits your space, and how it functions. Together, we'll explore material options, finishes, hardware, and any design details to refine proportions and aesthetic until it feels exactly right. I'm here to guide you—validating your instincts, offering perspective when you're unsure, and ensuring the design works both aesthetically and functionally for how you actually live. Once you approve the final design, you'll receive confirmed pricing and we move into fabrication with full confidence in what we're creating together. The design fee for this phase is credited toward your total project cost.
4. Fabrication and Install
Once the design is approved, my team begins fabrication—sometimes I'm in the workshop myself, sometimes I'm working with carefully selected fabricators I trust, but everything is executed to exact specifications. From your perspective, it's seamless: I oversee the entire process, ensure quality at every step, and keep you updated on progress. You'll always work directly with me, never handed off to someone else. Installation timing varies by project complexity, and I'm there to oversee the process and ensure every detail is right. My goal is for you to feel excited, not stressed, and to love living with this piece for years to come.
