A modern dining room for a growing family

Client Brief

The clients, a young couple in tech, had recently built a beautiful new home. Their style was apparent they moment I walked in. Sophisticated and minimalistic.

With two full time jobs and a young toddler, they had a lot on their hand and were strapped for spare time to finish the dining room. And wth an out of town family visit on the books, it became a little more urgent to get the area finished. The challenge we faced is the

The Space

The particular challenge in this space was the door to the covered patio that opened inwards and required enough space to navigate, taking away additional room for a dining table.

The Design

The white oak floating bench connects the space to the rest of the kitchen as it repeats materials and elements that are already in place.
