An art-deco bar for a New York style speakeasy
Having lived in New York for many years, the client for this project missed the glamour of the big city and decided to built a moody art deco speakeasy in their home. Painted entirely in iron ore, the moment you step through those secret book case doors, it feels like you are transported into a different world. A world of cozy vibes, jazz music, classic cocktails and endless conversations with friends.
To make this space complete, they commissioned me to design and build a custom bar to entertain friends. It echoes the design of the room with gold fluted tiles, a subtle light glowing from underneath the countertop, an classic oval shape and an elegant dark wood counter. This art deco bar comfortably sits two or three in the front and offers storage for liquor bottles and glasses in the back.
